Local Sterling Resident joins LIVESTRONG in Fight Against Cancer
Sterling resident Jeff Mogensen joins LIVESTRONG’s fight against cancer by participating in the 2010 LIVESTRONG PHILLY CHALLENGE in Philadelphia, PA as part of Team LIVESTRONG. Team LIVESTRONG encourages individuals to make a difference in the fight with cancer by fundraising to support The Lance Armstrong Foundation and the 28 million people living with cancer worldwide.
“We’ve all been affected in so many ways either personally or with friends and family who have been diagnosed with this disease. It’s my honor to do what I can to support those affected and in some way try to help create a world that is cancer free,” Mogensen said.
When you join Team LIVESTRONG you can walk, run, ride or tri in the fight against cancer. Whatever your strengths, whatever your goal, whatever your personal battle, you too can make a difference. Team LIVESTRONG will participate in 16 major athletic events around the world and will host four events in the United States called the LIVESTRONG Challenge Series. Mogensen’s efforts include initiating cancer awareness programs at local school and he hopes to raise $25,000 for LIVESTRONG as a participant of the PHILLY CHALLENGE by riding for donations and organizing charity events. The first fundraising charity event is:
